Renewed love of outdoor cinema

Summer is only around the corner and we are all excited about the prospect of a lockdown lifted summer. While some Covid restrictions will be lifted, it will still be at the forefront of all our minds, this is the reason they it is expected that those ‘Covid friendly’ activities on offer are still likely to be the most popular this year – including the drive-in cinema.

Go back a few years and drive-in cinemas were seen as historic activities, usually seen on films such as Grease. However, since the start of Covid restrictions over a year ago, outdoor events have become very popular again. It is a triumph to the British spirit that even in difficult times we, as a nation, find alternative ways to have fun and make precious memories.

It has been reported that Eventbrite, the online ticketing site, has recorded an increase of 300% in listings for drive through events as organisers put on activities to please the public following a long pent-up winter.

For those who are not a huge fan of drive-in cinemas, it has been noted that a number of different drive-in events are being offered, from in car karaoke to in-car bingo, there really is something for everyone.
